This long range literacy plan is set up as a foundation of ideas and specific mini-lesson examples to be embedded in curriculum throughout an academic school year. Examples are listed in the following format: (1) a brief indication of information to be learned, (2) examples of developed tools, website practices, lessons I have already created, or simply basic thoughts, and (3) a general assessment checklist for each overarching goal. My plan is organized in this fashion to be easy to read, "outlinish," and transferable. The latter goal is specifically why I chose to break the mini-lessons under six learning goals before further unpacking them into semesters/seasons. I designed the flow of examples to be progressive, so that they become more complex as the school year lengthens. Please notice there is a button called "Especially for English!" that includes additional mini-lesson ideas for my content area: communication, arts and literature.
